Impact of Bleaching of Coral Reefs

Problems Statement:

Look back to your initial research questions and identify the problem and what you found in your research.

Coral Bleaching is caused from increased greenhouse gases from activities like deforestation, and the burning of fossil fuels for heat and energy, causing ocean temperatures to rise. This causes the coral to expel the symbiotic algae living in their tissues, causing them to turn completely white.

(from https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/coral_bleach.html#:~:text=When%20corals%20are%20stressed%20by,them%20to%20turn%20completely%20white.&text=Warmer%20water%20temperatures%20can%20result%20in%20coral%20bleaching.&text=This%20is%20called%20coral%20bleaching,bleaches%2C%20it%20is%20not%20dead.)

What Can be Done:

The main reason of coral bleaching is global warming. We can help stop global warming by not traveling so much in cars, planes and motorbikes but instead taking public transport, biking, walking skateboarding and rollerblades/skates. Stop burning so much fossil fuel, stop cutting down tree which cause the trees to released green house gas which make's the world hotter also this causes deforestation.

Items used in my project:

bottles caps, cardboard, news paper bamboo sticks, egg cartons, plastic cup and paper rolls.

What I'd do differently next time:

If I every do this again I would probably make less a mess with the glue, make some different types of coral and also add some thing which you normally see in coral reefs if you go diving (sea urchin, fish hiding under a rock, more rocks which bend over, etc, etc).

What I'm most proud of:

I am most prove of finishing this project and also getting it down even in another country.
